Golf led by David Podmore
It was a good day out with our fellow local Probus groups. The weather was sunny, a great day for golf. We enjoyed a meal and beer with them after the golf. Barton on Sea won the team event and their second team were runners up. Our team was handicapped by the loss of our star player Martin Lockwood. It was handicapped further by the selection of Dave Bramley who last played 18 holes of golf 25 years ago, However, we went into battle in spite of the odds. There were some lessons learned about striving to win. On the day Dave proved that losingcan also bring great rewards. Having lost most golf balls brought the prize of 6 new ones. Having the lowest number of stableford points realised a nice bottle of red wine. Being 3rd out of the three Brock players brought the third Brockenhurst trophy. Peter performed best of the three of us and David was runner up. Some pictures of the event follow.
