August 2025 Talk

Our August meeting heard an interesting talk from Tim Cosby on the Mission Aviation Fellowship.

Mission Aviation Fellowship is the world’s largest humanitarian air operator, flying medical supplies, doctors, and nurses to those living in isolated areas around the globe, places no one else can reach and ensuring critical care gets to where it’s needed most. The remote places being jungles, mountains, swamps, and areas with insecurity dilapidated infrastructure. Tim’s presentation, using stills and videos, gave examples of individual cases where MAF’s involvement had made the difference. Its service is used by governments and charitable organisations.

Currently operating 117 planes in 24 countries this organisation sprang from the surplus of planes and pilots after the second world war and the desire to do positive things. It started with 2 aircraft and operates in countries in South Asia,South America and Africa.
