The speaker was in the London Metropolitan Force. They described how their love of horses eventually, after various jobs, got them a place on the force. Much of their time was spent on covert operations observing situations and collecting evidence with which the Police built up cases, many cases resulted in prosecutions. They described how, dressed in street clothes, they had to mingle with the general public not looking suspicious and not attracting attention. They brought examples of items which were recovered and which became exhibits in cases. It was a very interesting talk about a relatively unknown aspect of Police work.
